Enabling Market Solutions Since 1957 – Our Journey
Dynamic EMS Ltd has its origins as far back as 1957, when Rochester UK was incorporated as a sister company of Rochester Inc. USA, Rochester UK having previously acquired Mimic Diagrams, a company located in Kent, England.
Over the next three decades, the company operated as Rochester Instrument Systems Ltd, manufacturing and distributing a range of electronic instrumentation for the power and process industries. Rochester UK operated as a subsidiary of Rochester Inc, and in 1981 both became members of The Marmon Group, a US based privately held conglomerate.
In 1989 Rochester Instrument Systems Ltd acquired Highland Electronics Alarm Systems and its associated Contract Electronics Manufacturing business, making a decision to relocate and integrate its entire manufacturing operation from Kent, England, to Dunfermline, Scotland.
In 1995 Rochester Inc and Rochester UK were separated allowing each company to operate with complete autonomy. 1996 saw the UK operation diversify into the water and wastewater market with the acquisition of Dynamic Logic, based in Bracknell, who were manufacturers of telemetry instrumentation. This was followed by three smaller acquisitions which complimented that acquisition.
In September 2000 The Marmon Group sold Rochester Inc to Ametek, and as part of the sale agreement, Rochester UK had to cease manufacture and marketing of all products that could be supplied by Rochester Inc, and change its name. The company changed its name to Dynamic Logic Ltd.
The newly named company continued to manufacture and market products for the water industry, and to develop its Contract Electronics Manufacturing business.
The company was now focussed on two different markets:
01. OEM (telemetry outstations for the water and wastewater markets)
02. CEM (Contract Electronics Manufacturing)
2004 saw the sale of its OEM (telemetry) business to ITT Flygt, and as part of the deal, retained the manufacture of telemetry products, enabling the company to be totally focussed on the Contract Electronics market, now referred to as EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services).
2005 saw a management buyout from The Marmon group, and a change of name from Dynamic Logic Ltd, to Dynamic EMS Ltd, as this reflected the company’s business focus.
2014 saw a further MBO of the business by its current Managing Director, John Dignan.
